SYFY Reveals First Look at 'Happy!'

After announcing their 'reboot' initiative, SYFY has revealed their orders for a television adaptation of Grant Morrison's graphic novel Happy! from Image Comics. SYFY has released a teaser for the upcoming television series which can be seen below.

The story follows Nick Sax, a corrupt, intoxicated ex-cop turned hit-man, adrift in a stinking twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex, eczema, and betrayal. With a hit gone wrong, a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail, and a monstrous child killer in a Santa suit on the loose, Nick seems to have met his doom... until he has an unfortuante run-in with fate in the form of a tiny, relentlessly positive blue horse named Happy.

Christover Meloni (Law and Order: SVU) has been cast as the main character, Nick Sax. Grant Morrison (All-Star SupermanBatman) along with Brian Taylor (Crank) have co-written the pilor script. Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Toby Jaffe of Original Film (The Fast and the Furious franchise), Meloni and Patrick Macmanus (Marco Polo) will also executive produce. A release date has not been determined.

The Happy! Deluxe Hardcover (978-1607068389, $24.99) edition is available now. Check out a preview of the graphic novel here! Check out the teaser trailer for the upcoming SYFY series below! For a list of dates and details on programming, click here.
